- 800 BC (approximate)
- Destruction of Atlantis by Zeus. Atlantis was once a city state on the Greek peninsula, but Zeus destroyed them and sunk them into the sea because they worshiped Poseidon as the supreme God. Poseidon, appearing as the first of the legendary Ocean Masters, took pity on the Atlantean people and used magic to make them adaptable to the water instead. He directed the refugee people to the Tritonians, who helped the Atlanteans further adapt their culture to their new home. (Ult. Aquaman #13)
- 494 AD
- King Arthur Pendragon pulls the sword from the stone and becomes King of England. During his reign, Arthur establishes the Knights of the Round Table, and the court at Camelot. (Ult. Demon Knights #1)

- Jason Blood (Etrigan) comes to Camelot to study with Merlin, after being discovered as a magic user during a bandit attack on his home village. As he studies, he becomes infatuated with Lady Morgaine, the oldest of King Arthur's younger sisters and the pair become involved, to Arthur's initial chagrin. (Ult. Demon Knights #1)

- Jason Blood (Etrigan) finally wins Arthur's approval and gets married to Lady Morgaine and begins instructing her in the use of magic in secret, providing her the lessons he himself learned from Merlin. Blood is nervous about Morgaine's tendency to not be secret with her magical talent, Morgaine feels magic is to be used. (Ult. Demon Knights #2)

- Jason Blood (Etrigan the Demon) goes into battle for the first time, and learns that it's nothing like the stories he'd heard in his youth. War is dirty and gritty, and people don't come back home...
Upon his return to Camelot, Morgaine le Fey betrays Jason Blood and performs a ritual, binds him to the demon Etrigan for the rest of his life. She does this in a bid to gain ever greater magic ability, no longer content to hide her abilities or wait patiently to learn the things that Blood is unwilling to teach her. (Ult. Demon Knights #3)

- Jason Blood (Etrigan the Demon) returns to England for the first time since the fall of Camelot, due to learning of the rebellion taking place there against Prince John's hateful rule. Blood becomes drawn into the rebellion, lead by the legendary Robin Hood and his Merry Men, especially because Maid Marion is in fact Nimue Pendragon, his eternal love. (Ult. Demon Knights #8-11)
- 1562
- Jason Blood (Etrigan the Demon) begins working for the Count Ulrich von Helfenstein in the German city of Wiesensteig, helping to track down women who have sold their souls to Lord Satanus in exchange for magical power. The women are to be burned as witches. Blood expresses regret, knowing they were victims themselves, but also knows they cannot be left on Earth to do Satanus' business.
One of these women has a son, Klarion who has inherited his late mother's magical ability. Blood saves him from the wrath of the villagers and agrees to take him on as an apprentice (Ult. Demon Knights #4)
- 1571
- Mordru and Neron team up in Rome to kill Doctor Fate, launching an army of demons onto the Earth. Zauriel, Jason Blood and Klarion, along with a magic wielding priest called Rodrigo attempt to stop them. They are unable to keep Mordru from killing the host of Fate, or Rodrigo, but the timely intercession of The Spectre keeps Mordru from gaining control of Fate's helm for himself. Mordru is confined to a crystal, Neron turns tail and runs back to Hell. Klarion is induced by Mordru to free him from the crystal in exchange for access to greater power. Klarion takes it, and breaks with Jason Blood forever. (Ult. Demon Knights #5-6)
- 1983
- Destruction of Krypton, thanks to the invasion of an unknown, and unspecified force. The only survivors are a ship piloted by Dru Zod, and the escape pod that would launch Kal-El to Earth, where he would be found by the Kent Family and raised as Clark. (Ult. Superman #0)
- 1989
- Hurricane Daniel besieges the coast of New England. Poseidon brings Arthur Curry (Aquaman) to Thomas Curry in the middle of the storm to have the surface dweller raise him as his own. (Ult. Aquaman #0)

- The Newcastle Crew have their first encounter with Jallakuntilliokan. Gary and Emma lose their lives, the rest are profoundly changed. (Ult. Hellblazer #7)

- Mitchell Hundred (Great Machine) discovers a cube crashed in the desert while serving in Afghanistan and gains control over machines. The accident that occurs when Hundred receives these powers leads to Hundred's honorable discharge from the military and a return to civilian life. (Ult. Ex Machina #0)

- Mitchell Hundred debuts as The Great Machine in Metropolis by saving a woman from a fire in the Queen Hotel. (Ult. Ex Machina #0)
- John Corbin becomes involved in the accident that destroys his body and turns him into Metallo (Ult. Superman #2)
- Clark Kent arrives in Metropolis, begins operating as Superman (Ult. Superman #3)

- The Great Machine battles Jack Pherson, a man known as The Shepherd that can control animals six times over the course of this year. In their final confrontation of 2005, Pherson manipulates a swarm of killer bees to attack an office building. The Great Machine is only able to save two people. Pherson then disappears, with Great Machine vowing revenge if he ever resurfaced. (Ult. Ex Machina #8)

- Superman is abducted by the Ultra Humanite (Ult. Superman #1)
- Brainiac begins an assault of Metropolis over the New Year holiday, finally stopped by The Great Machine. (Ult. Ex Machina #1)

- Superman wakes up a captive of the Ultra Humanite and meets Power Girl for the first time. The Humanite intends to breed Superman with Power Girl, creating a Kryptonian child that the Humanite can take possession of, giving it a body as powerful as its intellect. Superman and Power Girl are able to overpower the Humanite however, crashing its ship into the sea and escaping. Power Girl, having nowhere else to go, opts to return to Metropolis with Superman.(Ult. Superman #1)
- June
- Arthur Curry (Aquaman) graduates high school, and after pulling off a miraculous rescue following a car accident is forced to reveal his special abilities to his friend Jenna. (Ult. Aquaman #2)
- Doctor Simon Jones opens a portal to another dimension, only to be attacked by a creature that takes over his mind and body. The creature decides to bring more of its kind to Earth, and attacks a hospital. Arthur Curry (Aquaman) manages to defeat him, preventing the alien takeover. Jones ultimately ends up in ARGUS custody. (Ult. Aquaman #3)
- July
- Arthur Curry (Aquaman), Jenna and Brian head to Metropolis to check out the campus and have one last adventure before they go to school and the Navy respectively. They happen to run into Mammoth and Shimmer on the Queensland Boardwalk, and Arthur battles the pair. They too end up in the custody of ARGUS (Ult. Aquaman #4-5)
- October
- The Great Machine unmasks, revealing himself to be Mitchell Hundred and begins to run for Metropolis Mayor. Photojournalist Matty Roth gains national fame for taking the picture of The Great Machine unmasking. (Ult. Ex Machina #1, Ult. Aquaman #7)
- The first assassination attempt on Mitchell Hundred (Great Machine)'s life takes place on Halloween. In the aftermath, Hundred's security fires upon a boat of protesters that had unknowingly been boarded by the would-be assassin. Jinx, who had arranged the protest in the first place, targets Hundred in retaliation and is stopped from killing him by Arthur Curry (Aquaman). Much as with the others, she ends up in the custody of ARGUS. (Ult. Aquaman #6-7)
- Arthur Curry (Aquaman) meets Garth (Tempest) who informs him of Atlantis, and takes him there. (Ult. Aquaman #8)
- November
- Arthur Curry (Aquaman) begins his journeys in Atlantis, seeking information about his origins. He finds himself caught up in a civil war between Orm, the current King trying to hold together a rapidly fracturing and classist society, and the Ocean Master, the latest in a line of legendary heroes, who seeks to put Arthur on the throne. In his attempt to hold onto power and eliminate Arthur Curry (Aquaman), Orm sends the Black Manta to the surface world to kill him. Black Manta only succeeds in killing Thomas Curry. When Orm heads to the surface to follow up, he and Arthur finally come to blows, and Orm is defeated. Arthur realizes his life on the surface will only cause harm to those he loves, agrees to return to Atlantis to try and rebuild their society, fulfilling his promise as the unifier. (Ult. Aquaman #8-15)

- Jack Pherson (The Shepherd) returns to Metropolis and murders several members of Coast Guard security by controlling tigers. (Ult. Ex Machina #0)
- John Constantine is hired by John and Pat Mills, based on his reputation in the media, to investigate their grandson Jaime. Constantine learns that the child is in fact being haunted, by Jaime's late parents (Garth and Amy). Constantine convinces Garth and Amy that they must let go, for Jaime's sake. (Ult. Hellblazer #1)

- January
- Mitchell Hundred (Great Machine) announces plans to build The Aether Harvester in Southside, Metropolis, a tower that would give the residents of Southside free power. STAR Labs is also involved in the construction and design of the tower. Jack Pherson (The Shepherd) makes his public re-debut and begins an assault on Mitchell Hundred by attacking the Aether Harvester press conference with maddened dogs (Ult. Ex Machina #4)
- February
- Jack Pherson (The Shepherd)'s assault continues, this time on a boat during a Mitchell Hundred (Great Machine) fundraiser, using maddened sharks. Hundred is able to stop the assault when he discovers the machine that Pherson is using to amplify his control and commands it to stop. (Ult. Ex Machina #5)
- Jason Blood begins to investigate a series of ritual murders at Gotham University and discovers Dawn Granger, a mysterious co-ed with limitless magical potential. During a ceremony gone wrong, Dawn was accidentally possessed by a demon who intended to use the girl for its own evil purposes. Blood is able to exorcise the demon from Dawn, but refuses to take her on as a magical apprentice. (Ult. Demon Knights 1-3)
- Lucifer Morningstar, the absolute ruler of Hell warns Jason Blood that a pivotal moment is coming for Heaven, Earth and Hell alike. A new age is coming, and even he can't tell what form it will take. (Ult. Demon Knights #3)
- Klarion comes to Gotham to mess with Jason Blood once again, discovering Dawn Granger and hopes to find in her a kindred spirit, taking her under his wing when Blood refuses to train her himself. At first Dawn is pleased to have someone to help her with her magical training, now that the powers have been awakened, but Dawn rejects his nihilistic lifestyle. Following the rejection, Klarion directly takes control of her body to assault Gotham, since she wasn't going to do it willingly.
Even Etrigan is overwhelmed by the combined pair's attack, but Dawn shakes Klarion's control and dispatches him. (Ult. Demon Knights 4-7) - Jason Blood finally agrees to take Dawn Granger on as an apprentice and begins to help her control her magic. (Ult. Demon Knights #7)
- John Constantine faces off against Calabraxis, a demon that once posed as Jack the Ripper. Calabraxis seeks to consume Constantine's soul, but Constantine outwits him, and Blaxothi, another demon that John brings in specifically to kill Calabraxis. (Ult. Hellblazer #2-4)
- March
- Jack Pherson this time targets the entire city of Metropolis by controlling the bird population to dive bomb the city (Ult. Ex Machina #6-8)
- The Rainbow Archer makes the second attempt to assassinate Mitchell Hundred (Great Machine). This time while he gives a commemorative speech in the aftermath of the bird assault on Metropolis. He too fails to kill Hundred, but does put him into a coma. (Ult. Ex Machina #8)
- Gotham University students put together a fundraiser at Kane Consolidated Stadium to help repair the Business District after Klarion's attack. Dawn Granger meets Don and Hank Hall here, and spend the evening together. (Ult. Demon Knights #8)
- Dawn Granger once again becomes the victim of a demonic attack when Lady Blaze seeks to capture her, launching an entire army designed to distract Jason Blood (Etrigan the Demon) and Madam Xanadu. This is significant, because bringing an army of demons to the Earth threatens the peace established between Heaven and Hell, and threatens a renewed war between both sides. This compels Lucifer Morningstar to intercede and bring Blaze and the demons back home, though he only does this after Jason Blood personally requests it. Lucifer now intends to hold a favor over Blood's head, and will come to collect it when Blood least expects it. (Ult. Demon Knights #9-11)
- April
- John Constantine, alongside Mister E, stop Papa Midnite and his cult from abducting people to destroy their minds, and use their bodies to power a sort of neural network. This network is sold as the ultimate experience, where people can free their minds and travel wherever they want along it. Papa Midnite is defeated when Mister E and Constantine shift their final battle into Mister E's own mind, where they hold the advantage. (Ult. Hellblazer #5)
- May
- Mitchell Hundred wakes up from his coma, but without his powers. (Ult. Ex Machina #9)
- Wonder Woman arrives in Gateway City. (Ult. Wonder Woman #1)
- June
- Mitchell Hundred begins the next major project for the Architect, a garden that would provide food for all of Metropolis. To do this, he brings in Professor Jason Woodrue and the Professor's assistant Susan Linden-Thorne (Black Orchid). (Ult. Ex Machina #9)
- The surviving members of the Newcastle Crew must once again face off against the imminent return of Jallakuntilliokan. Brian and Peter lose their lives, but the creature appears pushed back once and for all when Jallakuntillokan's mother gets involved and drags him back to their home dimension.

- Mitchell Hundred begins having an affair with Susan Linden-Thorne, the assistant brought in to help with Hundred's Garden project. (Ult. Ex Machina #10)
- October
- The Metropolis Hallowed Haunt is resurrected by Anarky in order to inspire Matty Roth to get back into his social justice crusade. (Ult. Ex Machina #10)
- November
- A new vigilante with a willingness to kill called Trouble begins operating in Metropolis, targeting Bruno Mannheim and his associates. Mannheim begins torturing people in Southside to discover Trouble's identity (Ult Ex Machina #10)
- December
- Numerous businesses and people in Metropolis (including Mitchell Hundred's personal assistant Journal) are caught up in scandal when Anarky and the Newsboy Legion leak a series of 9 documents suggesting that off-the-books money was being moved around in the city for money laundering purposes. (Ult. Ex Machina #11-12)

- Bizarro, a failed clone of Superman escapes confinement and wrecks havoc in Metropolis until he is stopped by Superman and Power Girl. The pair arrange for Bizarro to be investigated by STAR Labs, but Luthor pulls some strings and gains possession of the creature instead, taking him back to ARGUS. (Ult. Superman #3-4)
- Thanks to Jimmy Olsen's stakeout, Superman and Power Girl are able to locate the ARGUS facility and confront Lex Luthor. The pair leave, exchanging a promise to leave knowledge of the facility alone so long as CADMUS agrees to cease cloning efforts, having believed Bizarro was the only attempt. (Ult. Superman #5-6)
- Doomsday, a freak clone with more power than Superman awakens for the first time, creating the incident that allowed Bizarro to escape in the first place. (Ult. Superman #6)

- The Kryptonian ship of Dru Zod arrives on Earth. (Ult. Superman #8)
- Dru Zod meets with President O'Neil and Gen. Sam Lane, requesting asylum. They have designs on an uninhabited piece of land in Alaska. Zod also reveals to President O'Neil the activities of CADMUS and ARGUS, especially their responsibility for the creation of the clone Bizarro. This causes President O'Neil to suspend CADMUS activities. (Ult. Superman #8)
- Lois Lane is given an exclusive look at the Kryptonian ship, live on the news. She sees the living quarters, the med bays, places for schooling, as well as the Phantom Zone portal. (Ult. Superman #9)
- Sam Lane, fearing what the loss of CADMUS would do to ARGUS and the United State's security, convinces Amanda Waller and Lex Luthor to launch a preemptive strike on the Kryptonians. This involves unleashing the Doomsday clone on the ship, which kills many Kryptonians, including Dru-Zod's son. ARGUS also unleashes the full cadre of stabilized Bizarro clones, and an army of Metallo-derived robots. Dru Zod responds to the ARGUS assault by declaring war on the entire planet, despite Superman and Power Girl's calls for calm and patience. (Ult. Superman #10)
- Superman is placed in the Phantom Zone as a traitor, Power Girl is confined to quarters on the Kryptonian ship. (Ult. Superman #10)
- Zatanna Zatara, after grabbing the Helm of Fate, summons Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Green Arrow to the arctic where the battle between the Kryptonian and ARGUS forces is about to begin. Moments after summoning them all she passes out. The Helm of Fate falls from her head and disappears, leaving just an exhausted magician and four very confused heroes. (Ult. Justice League #1)
